Party Guest

MOTHER and her daughter SALLY are doing the last-minute preparations for a dinner party at their home.
MOTHER
You know, Sally, when the guests arrive, I want you on your best behavior. You must be polite to everyone. And I don't want to see any of your bad habits.
Sally sets the stack of dishes down on the table. She reaches into her sleeve to scratch her armpit.
SALLY
Bad habits?
MOTHER
Yes, like scratching under your arms.
SALLY
Huh? Oh.
Sally immediately stops scratching her armpit, but then rubs a finger under her nose.
MOTHER
Or -heaven forbid- rubbing your hand against your nose like you always do. That is so unsanitary. None of the guests are going to want to see that.
SALLY
(with attitude)
Okay.
int. home, later
Guests have arrived. People are milling about making small talk. Sally, now dressed nicely for the party, is looking rather uncomfortable. She doesn't seem to know what to do about her hands. A GUEST walks over.
GUEST
Hello, Sally.
Sally continues to fidget.
SALLY
Hi.
Nearby, Mother looks over to make sure Sally is behaving.
GUEST
My, you look very nice tonight. Where did you get that pretty dress?
Sally is dying to scratch under her arms. She finally figures out that she can do so by resting hers arms on the back of a dining room chair while moving side to side.
SALLY
Mom got it for me.
GUEST
I see.
During a pause in the conversation, Sally's nose has started itching. She is doing all she can to not rub it. Mother has now cast a disapproving look toward Sally for the chair bit. Sally has a hand near her face, but doesn't touch her nose.
GUEST
So, how is school?
SALLY
Oh, fine.
Another pause in the conversation. Finally, Sally can't hold back any longer. Her right hand is up by her face, index finger pointing left. As she starts to speak, she glides her finger under nose.
SALLY
See that picture over there?
(beat)
Mom's going to hang it...
She now glides her left hand, index finger pointing right, under her nose.
SALLY
...Over there!
